Upgraded | Canadian Government Funding

FedDev Ontario, in collaboration with Bioenterprise, is introducing SGAP to help businesses across the value chain become more sustainable. The program provides funding to support the adoption of clean technologies and improvements to existing operations with a focus on environmental performance.

Funding Amount

Non-repayable contributions between $40,000 – $100,000.
Applications must procure 60% match of the project costs, up to $150,000.

Eligible Applicants

Must be incorporated and located in Southern Ontario
Must generate at least $200,000 in annual revenue
Must operate within the Food or Agri-Tech sectors
Must be a for-profit business or not-for-profit organization ready to:
- Adopt established clean technologies through an Eligible Sustainability Project Partner and/or
- Collaborate with a Sustainability Partner for sustainability enhancement projects

Sustainability Partner must be:

Can be a for-profit business or not-for-profit organization
Must be able to:
- Deliver a verified clean technology or consulting service that lowers the applicant’s carbon footprint and supports their path to net zero
- Provide a formal Statement of Work

Eligible Activities

Projects must involve one or both of the below:

Integration of validated clean technologies into business operations
Execution of sustainability improvement projects to evaluate and plan operational changes for improved environmental outcomes
