Upgraded | Canadian Government Funding

This federal program supports efforts to address discrimination and promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural understanding in Canada. It provides funding through three distinct streams: Events, Projects, and Community Capacity Building.

Funding Amount

Events stream:

Up to 100% of eligible expenses, to a maximum of $100,000

Projects stream:

Up to $200,000 in grants or up to $1,000,000 in contributions per project

Community Capacity Building stream:

Up to 100% of eligible expenses, to a maximum of $100,000

Eligible Applicants

Events stream:

Indigenous and Canadian organizations
Municipalities or townships with populations under 10,000

Projects stream:

Indigenous and Canadian not-for-profits
Crown corporations
Provincial, territorial, municipal, or regional governments

Community Capacity Building stream:

Indigenous and Canadian not-for-profit organizations

Hosting public events that encourage intercultural or interfaith understanding

Projects stream:

Creating collaborative initiatives that address discrimination
Developing educational resources, workshops, and support services

Community Capacity Building stream:

Strengthening internal governance
Enhancing organizational capabilities
Strategic planning for promoting equity and inclusion
