The GIFMP’s Energy Efficiency Solutions (EES) Stream offers financial support to businesses aiming to improve energy efficiency and implement energy management strategies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance competitiveness.

Funding Amount

Up to 100% of eligible implementation costs for provincial/territorial governments and non-profit organizations, capped at $20 million per project.
Up to 75% of eligible costs for private sector for-profit entities (e.g., utilities, training institutes, industry associations), also capped at $20 million per project.

Governments and agencies of provinces and territories.

Utility service providers.

Organizations with broad regional or national influence, including:

Not-for-profit organizations,
Indigenous organizations,
Industry associations,
Training institutions.

Training programs for Energy Management Practitioners.

Conducting energy audits and assessments.

Hiring energy managers or implementing energy management systems.

Developing and executing Strategic Energy Management (SEM) initiatives.

Capital investments that directly support energy efficiency improvements.
