GIFMP's Industrial Facility Track (IFT)

The Industrial Facility Track of the Green Industrial Facilities and Manufacturing Program (GIFMP) offers funding support to help industrial facilities adopt energy-saving and energy management measures. The goal is to boost energy efficiency, lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and enhance overall competitiveness.

Funding Amount

Access up to 50% to a maximum of $10 million; the minimum funding contribution is $40,000.

Eligible Applicants

  • Canadian facilities that use energy in processes that physically or chemically transform materials or substances into new products.

  • Workforce training for Energy Management Practitioners.
  • Conducting energy audits to identify opportunities to cut energy use, lower costs, and boost competitiveness.
  • Supporting energy managers in industrial facilities to pinpoint savings, create an energy-focused culture, and implement energy management systems.
  • Establishing systems to monitor and manage energy use, set targets, and adopt best practices for ongoing improvements.
  • Upgrading or modifying equipment, processes, or infrastructure to make energy use more efficient.
