Upgraded | Canadian Government Funding

The Life Sciences Innovation Fund (LSIF) provides funding to help early-stage life sciences and health tech companies advance from concept to commercialization. The program supports innovative, high-potential projects that require significant capital to bring new healthcare solutions to market.

Funding Amount

Applicants may receive up to $500,000 in funding to help scale their Ontario-developed health technologies.

Eligible Applicants

Companies must meet the following to qualify:

Be headquartered and primarily operating in Ontario;
Have over 50% of their staff based in Ontario at time of applying;
Be incorporated for fewer than five years;
Be an early-stage company with strong IP and commercialization potential.

Eligible Activities

Eligible projects must:

Move capital-intensive health innovations from idea to market;
Focus on areas such as cancer, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, or medical technology;
Have raised under $3 million in third-party investment;
Be seeking between $1M–$5M in pre-seed or seed round investments.
