Upgraded | Canadian Government Funding

The Quantum Leap Funding Program is CQDM’s flagship initiative that provides financial support to Canadian SMEs and universities to collaborate on groundbreaking pharmaceutical research. The aim is to advance the development of innovative drug technologies that are both more efficient and environmentally sustainable.

Funding Amount

Offers up to 50–66% in project funding, up to a maximum of $1.2 million.
Support can be structured as a grant, investment, or a combination.
Higher amounts may be considered for exceptional proposals.

Eligible Applicants

Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with fewer than 500 employees

Public research organizations in Canada

Eligible Activities

Projects at any point in the drug development pipeline with a broad range of therapeutic applications

Research aimed at accelerating or enhancing the drug discovery process and resulting drug safety and efficacy

Projects must be conducted with support and active collaboration from CQDM pharmaceutical members

Deliverables must be tailored for end-use by pharmaceutical stakeholders

The initiative provides scientists with new collaborative opportunities with global industry leaders
