The Business Scale-up and Productivity (BSP) program, offered by Western Economic Diversification Canada, supports high-potential businesses in Western Canada by helping them integrate or adapt innovative technologies. The goal is to boost productivity, expand operations, and enhance export readiness for international markets.
Repayable contribution (no-interest loan) of up to 50% of eligible project expenses to a maximum $5 million per project and $10 million per applicant.
To qualify, businesses must be incorporated at the time of application and have been operating profitably for at least two years in Western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba).
Projects must be related to areas such as advanced manufacturing, digital innovation, value-added agriculture, clean technology, clean resources, or life sciences.
The program supports scaling up high-growth companies by funding early adoption or customization of innovative technologies and processes, increasing management capacity, commercializing new products or methods, and conducting market research for export growth.
